ACCC Small Business Program The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) helps businesses to be aware of their responsibilities under the Trade Practices Act to minimise the risk of being taken to court by competitors, suppliers or customers for breaching the Act.
Area Consultative comities Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) provide information on government priorities and programs for the benefit of business and the community. There are 56 ACCs across Australia serving rural, regional, remote and metropolitan communities.
Business Entry Point (BEP) The Business Entry Point website contains information and transactions relating to a broad range of business life-cycle activities. The site provides information drawn from other federal, state, territory and local government websites and includes a tool that helps businesses to find and manage government transactions. The Business Entry Point is a free service.
Legal Issues Guide for Small Business This guide, published by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources, has been specifically designed for small business managers and for use by small business advisers. It assists in determining the nature of key legal problems impacting on small business, the range of options available to handle problems, and the most appropriate sources of information and assistance.
Tax Basics Seminars These free seminars, run by the ATO (Australian Taxation Office), are aimed at giving people a basic understanding of small business tax issues and obligations.
What’s on Calendar The federal, state and territory and local governments present many seminars, workshops and conferences to assist small businesses when starting up. The Business Entry Point's What's on is a monthly calendar that lists events in city and country areas of Australia.

Indigenous Business Australia IBA was established to assist and enhance Indigenous self-management and economic self-sufficiency. IBA invests directly in business opportunities, usually through joint venture arrangements with expert industry partners.
INDUSTRY TECH LINK INDUSTRY TECHLINK is a national free advisory service allowing small and medium size enterprise owners to talk to a technology consultant who can help them to identify their technology needs and improve their profits. INDUSTRY TECHLINK has a national free call number - 1800 111 485 - which operates 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
New Enterprise Initiative Scheme (NEIS) NEIS assists eligible unemployed people to establish commercially viable new businesses through a comprehensive package of assistance. Assistance includes training in small business management, business skills and business plan development; NEIS Allowance for up to 52 weeks following training, equivalent to the basic adult rate of Newstart Allowance; and business advice and mentor support during the first year of business operation.
Small Business Answers Program Small Business Answers is a competitive grants program providing financial grants to organisations to deliver advisory services to small business owners, particularly in regional areas. Locate your nearest Small Business Answers Officer (SBAO) from the list of service providers, available from the AusIndustry website.
Small Business Enterprise Culture Program (SBECP) The Small Business Enterprise Culture Program aims to develop and enhance the business skills of small business owner-managers and demonstrate the contribution that such skills can make to business viability and growth. AusIndustry provides industry assistance to business.

BECs can assist with a wide range of advice and support for business, from developing a business plan to what type of insurance you need. BECs are located in city and country areas throughout Australia.
Small Business Services The Small Business Services unit provides advice, information and assistance to a broad range of businesses in South Australia and over the years has gained a reputation for providing practical and commercially sound business services.
